And Now I Have Become a Cliche

Well, it finally happened. Yesterday I went down to the Y, plunked down a significant chunk of money, and signed myself up to become a soccer mom. That's it for me, it's all downhill from here. From now on I will spend my afternoons in the minivan, shuttling two different soccer players to two different practices and two different games for the fall season. Sigh. I'm just a helmet-haircut and an ill-advised blue jean purchase away from this:

  1. I forgot to say, don't forget that Victoria Beckham is also a soccer mom. No mom jeans needed. Course, I wouldn't really want to look like her either. Maybe if you could find the happy medium?

  2. Hahahaha!! I think I'm about to do the same thing. Not the mom jeans. The Y registration.

  3. I signed Will up last week. Luckily, he's the only one who wants to play so I only have to go to one team's practices and games this year.

  4. That is SO FUNNY!!! When I cut off my hair this time I said "Does it look like a helmet?" and Shane just looked at me like "A Helmet?"

It's OK, we all succumb eventually. And now high-waisted jeans are coming back in style. THere's no hope for us.

  5. Thank goodness we do hockey. Nobody at the rink can see what kind of jeans I'm wearing under the enormous parka...

  6. Joy, I was hoping Jesus would come back before the high-waisted jeans did.

  7. i am avoiding the soccer teams like the plague, as one friend advised me that if I signed up I would never see the inside of my house again

  8. I am so there with the soccer, t-ball, and track. Now cub scouts is our new adventure.
I finally got back into my pre-pregnant jeans. That was a huge day for me! A long time waiting or working for that moment. I only pray I won't ever have to wear the "MOM Jeans."

  9. Aw. Don't feel bad. It's like drowning - not all that bad, once you give in. Or so I hear.
