100th Post! And A Giveaway!

100 posts. Wow. I guess this means I've actually stuck with this whole blogging thing longer than I ever expected. Honestly, it was not something I put a lot of thought into, just jumped in with both feet purely on impulse, and I had no idea it would be this much fun. I never expected to observe ordinary events in my life and think, "Hey, this will be great on the blog", or to lie awake at night and think of the perfect wording for something, and then have to get up and type it before it leaves my mind.

I'm just really enjoying all of it. And do you know what I enjoy the most? Getting to hear from each of you. I have made new 'cyber' friends, and have gotten back in touch with old friends and family members alike, all through this little parking spot in the blogosphere.

So today I want to show my appreciation to you, faithful readers, for all of the encouragement and laughter you have given to me. You really brighten my day. You rock. And to prove it to you, I'm going to give away a very special package that I have put together. I can't fully disclose all of the contents of the package, mainly because I haven't made up my mind yet, but I can assure you that it will contain a huge bag of Hershey Kisses and a few other fun things, and most importantly, a box of delicious Girl Scout Cookies, of the variety chosen by the winner.

You know you want some Girl Scout Cookies. What do you like? Thin Mints? Samoas? Do-si-do's? Tagalongs? Trefoils? Or are you one of those pansies who orders the Sugar Free Chocolate Chips?

Think it through, and leave it in the comments so I will know which box not to eat.

If you're a frequent commenter, I thank you. I adore hearing from you. If you've never left a comment before and you're looking for a good time to delurk, this is it. Go for it. Leave me a comment below, and on Friday, I will do some sort of magical random drawing to determine the winner.

Good luck!

  9. Samoas. It would have to be Samoas. And here's my logic. While Thin Mints are a very favorite of mine, especially straight from the freezer, you can satisfy your craving for them with a package of Keebler Grasshopper cookies. If port of the enjoyment is knowing you've helped the Girl Scouts, well, then I guess you need the real thing. Unless , of course, helping the little elves from Keebler, and their empire, will suffice. But Samoas. Mmmm. I have yet to find a suitable, comparable grocery store replacement for the shortbread, caramel, coconut, chocolate bliss that is a Samoa. I did once. About 20 years ago. In a small grocery store. with the off brand, never-heard-of-them-before cookies. And they were pretty good But generally speaking, there is no way top get anything that resembles a Samoa unless you get it straight from the girls in green. So that would be why I would have to choose Samoas.
And, congratulations on your 100th post! Made me sneak a peek a my own post count, but I ain't near 100!

  14. Yum, Girls Scout Cookies. It's a toss up between Somoas, Tagalongs and (frozen)thin mints. In fact, I'll admit, I'm known to have hidden boxes. One year about mid summer, I found a box of thin mints behind several deer roasts in my chest freezer. Boy were they good.

PS: Congrats on 100 posts and thanks for keeping me informed on the family.

  17. I am declining to enter your contest because I already have 5 boxes of girlscout cookies to resist from Debbie's daughter and I am round enough as it is. But I did want to say CONGRATULATIONS on 100 posts. I for one and thrilled that you blog now because I know more about what's going on with you than I have in years.

    Here's to 100 more.

  19. Chrissy, I have read every post. You are too flippin entertaining not to! I still can't figure out why we never hung out all those nights Brad and Greg went to the movies (or Los Arcos). We have so much in common. I really enjoyed your company that weekend you guys came for a visit. So it sucks that we missed out on hanging out together all that time. Congrats on the 100th post! Michele

  20. Hi,
I've been reading your blog for awhile now. I'm not sure how my mom found it, but she likes reading it too. I think your blog name and tagline is very creative!

I think my favorite Girl Scout cookie flavor is the mint. :)

  28. Am I still in time for the drawing? You know how much I love chocolate -- almost as much as you do. I love your blog and your sense of humor. I don't get to go online often, but when I do, I have to go back and catch up on everything. My coworkers look at me like I'm nuts when I start laughing out loud. Thanks for keeping me up-to-date on the goings on in your life and for making my work days a lot better. As for the cookies, just whichever ones you and the kids don't want.
    I love you.
