The Upside of Being Unemployed

1. We no longer have to pay $50 a month for Greg to take the toll road to work. Cha-ching!

2. Husband is underfoot at home a lot more.

3. Kids are old enough to earn their own living. That's right babies! Get to work! Those swimming lessons don't pay for themselves!

In all seriousness, we're doing just fine. Things are looking up for the moment, some contract work has been offered, some good interviews have been...interviewed, and I'm feeling good. I even repainted my bedroom in nice soft peaceful bluegreen tones in case we have to sell the house and move for me to enjoy for years to come.

  1. Katie's face is priceless in that picture. I could caption it so many things! She looks so bitter that her momma is making her earn her keep. All while her brother is off playing in the background. Such a valuable lesson to learn, Sweet Katie. LOL.

  2. dude. MQ had her first lemonade stand last week and charge 50 cents... she made over $6 in 45 minutes (and only $1 of that came from her parents!)

Dude... I am so getting my OWN lemonade stand.

  3. It's great that you're maintaining a positive attitude. That's key.

Contract work is great, but you really have to hustle to turn it into a steady income.

You should really put those kids to work in a coal mine or something. That's what we did when I was young. Lemonade stands will only weaken them. (just kidding)

    Good luck!
